Hine Downing – An Introduction

We are a prominent law firm based in Falmouth. Our own ‘family tree’ stretches back into the 19th Century; an unbroken history of advising and acting for generations of families and businesses. You may well be reading this because you have been told about us. We welcome most of our new clients following personal recommendation.

In many respects we are a traditional firm of solicitors, a symbol of continuity – and proud of the fact.

However, as a progressive, forward-thinking firm we are also constantly seeking to improve. Hine Downing itself was created when three long-established local practices agreed that, in an increasingly complex and fast-changing world, they should join forces to offer a broader range of services under one roof.

We currently have six partners and six main departments specialising in commercial law, civil litigation, family law, probate, wills and trusts, residential property, and elder client services. This last is a unique concept combining legal and welfare support; a good example of our innovative and responsive thinking. Behind the scenes, we employ the same information technology as the largest and most prestigious law firms in the country and our training programmes far exceed the standards for our profession.
